January 2011.
Much like 1996, 2011 has started with burst pipes affecting domestic and
commercial properties. Many Insurers and Adjusters will be stretched to the
limit. Being the largest reinstatement contractor in Scotland, by virtue of
the largest quantity of PAYE employees, we are responding well to the
demands and, with strong and proven systems, have reacted to every emergency
within 4 hours. Enquiries from Loss Adjusters, Brokers and Insurers are
welcome.

This amazing image of the Falkirk Wheel whilst snowbound ranks as one of our
favourites, and could well be a prize winner!

December 2010.
Our travels throughout Scotland mean we are often the beneficiaries of some
beautiful sights. This view of icicles was taken on one such journey. If
you have any interesting or unusual winter-time photographs, send them to us
for review and possible inclusion on our website. Email:

December 2010. Minus 15!
The temperature is dropping folks and it is likely that Insurers and Adjusters throughout the UK will feel the cold snap, and with it the inevitable volume of burst pipes which will affect householders and businesses throughout the UK. Wrap up warm!

December 2010 - No Monkeying Around!
We have recently undertaken a domestic fire damage project involving a 2-storey 3-bedroom property which was in need of total reinstatement throughout, including kitchen, bathroom, every ceiling, walls, flooring, internal and external windows and doors as well as an entrance vestibule. The project was overseen by Watts Plc. Photographs of the project will be contained on our website shortly.

December 2010/January 2011.
As we near the end of 2010 and look forward to 2011, we take this opportunity to thank our customers for their business during 2010. Major changes within our organisation took place during 2010, namely the considerable expansion of our Head Office, the development of a base in Inverness, and the continual development and accreditations which we achieved during 2010. We wish you and yours a fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year from all at John Wylie Building Ltd.

December 2010 – True Commitment!
The recent heavy snowfall affected many parts of the UK infrastructure and created havoc on the roads. Despite this, whilst attending a property in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, our team opted to get the job done rather than delay the works. The following is an email received from one of our customers:
Hi Laura,
I just wanted to say a big thank you to the workmen who have battled through the weather to continue the repairs at (address withheld), East Kilbride. The street was so deep in snow that the works van was unable to get near. The men carried all their gear a considerable distance through the snow and have been so considerate. The way they removed their workboots and put down sheeting to protect surfaces and carpets. They have been exemplary and I would really like you to pass on my thanks to their immediate bosses. I really appreciate all their hard work. They've been great!!!!
With grateful thanks
(Name withheld).
As ever, we are grateful when client’s understand the difficulties experienced during the extremities of the Scottish weather. Well done to the team who attended, and thanks to all for their unstinting commitment. As with all emails, completed Questionnaires and feedback, this is transmitted to our client.
For transparent reinstatement please call us to discuss why we feature prominently on HNW & Major & Complex Loss panels throughout Scotland.

November 26th 2010 – IASG-CII Glasgow Dinner.
Many thanks to our guests for such an excellent night, yet again. We arrived on a clear November night with the pipers playing for our arrival. When we left the Hilton at 5am,the snow was on the ground and the atmosphere, despite the time, was festive. This years’ dinner was one of the best so far and raised many thousands for worthwhile charities. Roll on 2011!.
