Water & Flood Repairs.

We have direct experience of inspecting, stripping out, drying and reinstating water and flood damaged properties stretching back to the 1992 Perth Floods, 1994 Paisley Floods, 1995 'Burst Pipes', 1997 Elgin Floods, 1998 Linlithgow Floods, 2000 Edinburgh Floods, 2001 Elgin Floods, Glasgow North floods of 2002, and the Carlisle Floods in 2005.

Water & Flood Repairs

We are now involved, to a significant extent, in the Cockermouth, Ambleside and Ulverston floods.

Flood damage is a specialist area.  During several high profile flooding events, it became apparent that contractors arrived on the scene purporting to be specialists in this field.  This creates a dangerous mix of individuals with little or no experience in this sector, combined with, for example, Health & Safety breaches.

We have, for example, witnessed the stripping out of thermoplastic floor tiles containing asbestos, wall boards containing amosite and chrysotile, and the removal and disposal of these contaminated materials within standard building waste. Asbestos Insulation Boards (AIB) are often mistaken for plasterboard, and 'strip-out' contractors have often ignored these issues to progress the strip-out works.

In addition to the aforementioned, poor application to the methodology of stripping, compartment reduction, drying, Certification of the drying work and reinstatement often results in significant delay and protracted correspondence between parties to try to ensure the project is back on track after the initial strip-out works have been completed.

Following the strip-out and drying of a flood affected property, we instigate a certificate from a separate UK specialist which provides a 30-year protection scheme guarantee on treated surfaces. This certification is accepted by Local Authorities, Building Societies, Banks, Housing Associations, Architects and by property owners who want the reassurance that the issued guarantee provides them with long term total protection on the works we have
carried out.

Water & Flood Repairs

We have been instrumental in reinstating a significant quantity of the flood affected properties in the UK in recent years, and have structures in place for tackling high volume incidents of this type.

A simple ethos of promising only what you can deliver remains constant in our organisation.  “Do less Better”.
